With age and usage, normal wear and tear does occur. Regular maintenance is key to keeping the lustre, shine, and colors of your precious metals and gems. Jewellery can last for years, even generations, if well taken care of. **General Care Tips:** - Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing to take off. - Store jewellery in a clean and dry place; avoid storing under direct sunlight, heat, and dampness. - Avoid contact with any chemicals. Remove before showering, exercising, and swimming. - Use a soft polishing cloth to clean your jewellery. **Silver Jewellery:** Sésu Jewellery is made from 925 sterling silver, available in Gold, Rose Gold, and White Rhodium plated. This beautiful precious metal needs a little love and care to keep it at its best. We do not recommend wearing it in the shower, while exercising, swimming, or in direct contact with any chemicals as it will tarnish quicker over time. 925 sterling silver may react to the ozone and hydrogen sulfide in the air, causing it to tarnish. Perfumes, hair sprays, lotions, moisturizers, and profuse sweating can also cause quicker tarnishing due to the chemicals reacting with the silver. Tarnished silver will turn a darkish grey-black color and is most easily removed using a silver polish cloth. Regular cleaning will help keep your silver sparkling. If it loses its shine or color, it can always be replated. **Gemstone Jewellery:** Most gemstone jewellery responds well to mild detergent and warm water. Scrub them using a soft brush, preferably a baby brush with soft bristles. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as you may end up scratching the stone. Rinse the stone and dry it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth. Pearl and Malachite require extra care as they are softer compared to other gemstones. Gently brush with a damp cloth to avoid scratches and maintain luster.
